MMA Regional Pick of the Week: LFA 214
LFA 214 Middleweight Fight: David Allakhverdiev vs John Moore
Card Start Time: Friday (8/15), 7:30pm EST (UFC Fight Pass)
When this line opened up, Allakhverdiev was a +145 underdog. The market quickly corrected that error and completely flipped the line. While you may not be getting any closing line value here, I do think there is still value on the Ukranian fighter.
Moore is a fighter who has largely won his fights with moments. In his most recent fight, he was getting backed up, controlled on the ground, and overall outworked. He got a couple quick lefts in that floored his opponent and changed it all. Although that has brought him here, I don’t think it’s sustainable in this fight.
Allakhverdiev is a explosive wrestler. He shoots big doubles and even hit something resembling a spear in one of his prior fights. Additionally, he’d good at keeping his opponents on the mat. So while Moore may have worked his way back up in the past, I see him struggling on the bottom for as long as this one lasts.
