Underdog Fantasy – DFS Picks for August 13
J.T. Ginn – Higher than 4.5 Strikeouts
Okay, so Ginn goes against our usual plays. He hasn’t been higher than this projection very much lately. In fact, he’s only been higher than this number once in his last seven games. However, that game just so happens to be his last time out. In that game, he posted nine strikeouts – a career high. While some might feel that he won’t be able to keep that up, I trust it thanks to the fact that the Rays regularly have issues with strikeouts. They struck out 11 times last game and have whiffed 10.0 times per game over the last three.
Kamilla Cardoso – Higher than 10.5 Rebounds
Cardoso has been higher than this mark in three of his last five games and in five of her last eight games. The numbers have been up a bit lately as she locks down a larger share of the boards in games. Angel Reese is still out and Cardoso should lead the team in rebounds here. She’s also facing a Suns team that is one of the worst shooting teams in the league – which should lend itself to plenty of opportunities.
Veronica Burton – Lower than 9.5 Points
Once upon a time, we were high on Burton coming out on top of all of her scoring projections. However, she seems to have trailed off lately in a way that puts us on the opposite side. She’s been lower than this mark in three of her last four games. In that time, she’s averaging 8.25 per game. The only reason she is coming in this high is that she’s had some good games against Washington, but that was before this downturn.
