Tampa Bay Rays vs Athletics
Start Time: 10:05 PM EST
The powers that be in the MLB might insist that they only be called ‘Athletics’, but the truth is they are the West Sacramento Athletics, playing their home games in Sutter Heath Park in West Sacramento, California. And the A’s don’t like playing in their new, temporary home digs, as they are only 23-35 at home this season (they won 47% of their home games last season in The Bay).
The Tampa Bay Rays are not good on the road, but they are still a much better team than the Athletics. And they have a much better starting pitcher on the bump tomorrow, with Drew Rasmussen going up against J.T. Ginn. Rasmussen made his first All-Star team this season and has a very solid 2.66 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 153 ERA+. We’ll just ignore the fact that the Athletics beat him up in an earlier meeting this season.
The Rays, as a very small favorite on the road, are my best bet for Wednesday.
