My best bet for Monday is also going down in Yankee Stadium as the Minnesota Twins and the New York Yankees face each other for the first time this season. While Minnesota’s Zebby Matthews vs New York’s Will Warren doesn’t have the makings of a pitcher’s duel tomorrow, I am going in on a pitching prop for my bet, regardless.
Matthews hasn’t had the greatest start to his MLB career, with a career ERA of 5.92 over his first two seasons, including a 5.17 mark in eight starts this season. However, he’s good at getting swings and misses, with a career strikeouts per 9 average of 10.8. And the Yankees are one of the worst teams at striking out, ranking sixth in the majors for most strikeouts per game.
