Underdog Fantasy – DFS Picks for August 10
Adrian Houser – Higher than 3.5 Strikeouts
Adrian Houser has not been able to get above this projection in his last two starts. He’s also been underneath this number in three of his last four. So why are we so confident that he can put it up here? The answer is really all about the Mariners’ bats. They rank 28th in terms of strikeouts with 8.91 per game. They have been even worse as of late – posting 10.0 strikeouts per game in their last three. If anything is going to wake Houser up, it’s the swing and miss of Seattle.
Naz Hillmon – Higher than 7.5 Rebounds
I’m sitting here and staring at this projection – I have to be honest, I’m perplexed. Hillmon has been above this projection easily in five of her last six games. Furthermore, she’s averaging 11.0 rebounds per game over her three games in August. She’ll be playing the Mercury on Sunday, who are one of the better teams in the league. However, she snagged nine boards when they played last time and I see no reason why she wouldn’t again.
Paige Bueckers – Higher than 16.5 Points
The WNBA projections continue to confuse me. Bueckers not only has run over this number, but she has by a wide margin. She’s scored at least 17 points in each of her last five games. In that span, she is putting up 20.2 points per game. She last played Washington well before this big run happened – all the way back in June. Even when she was scoring way less, she still put up 20 points in that one. There is no way she doesn’t post a gaudy number yet again.
