Being a degen is a core principle of our SGPN family. Well, what’s more degen than sweating out how many 180s will be thrown in a darts match? Or how many kills a player will get in Call of Duty? Allow us to introduce our Degens Only Play of the Day, a pick so obscure, it will have you friends questioning your sanity.
Every day, we scour the books and DFS sites for that one special play off the beaten path. Today, we turn our attention to the VALORANT Champions Tour and the VCT Americas more specifically as two Group Omega teams face off in a Week 4 battle.

MIBR Over NRG (+110 via ESPN BET)
Friday, August 8th, 8:00 p.m. ET
NRG enters Week 4 with a 2-1 record in Stage 2 of the Group Stage phase. Their only loss came by way of 100 Thieves who currently occupy the top spot in Group Omega. However, they ended Stage 1 with a 2-3 record and were knocked out of the playoffs in Round 1 of the Lower Bracket. Overall NRG has a 9-9 map record and are coming off of a 2-1 win against Leviatán last week.
MIBR is 1-2 so far in Stage 2 but are still in contention to make the playoffs, especially with a win against NRG this week. The Brazilians ended Stage 1 in second place in Group Omega with a 4-1 record. They advanced to the Upper Bracket Finals but could not make it past Sentinels. MIBR faced G2 Esports in the Lower Bracket Finals, but once again came up short against the eventual bracket winners.

These teams met in Week 4 of Stage 1 back in April. MIBR walked away with a 2-0 win with a convincing 26-11 final score. Both teams are coming off of a Week 3 win, however, MIBR handed 100 Thieves their first loss of the stage in a tightly contested 2-0 victory.
