Underdog Fantasy – DFS Picks for August 6
George Kirby – Higher than 5.5 Strikeouts
The month of July saw a nice uptick in strikeouts for Kirby. His 33 strikeouts in 29.2 innings brought him a lot closer to his career strikeout rate than he had been earlier in the season. On top of that, he managed to go over this projection in four of the five starts that he had in that month. He gets the White Sox in this one, who struck out 10 times on Tuesday. Kirby should be able to keep them on that track and pick up six here.
Janelle Salaun – Higher than 4.5 Rebounds
Janelle Salaun has clearly been putting in more work on the boards. To kick off the month of July, she pulled down nine rebounds and blew past her projection. Then on Sunday, we expected her to be able to do so again. She had three early rebounds and looked well on her way to covering 3.5, but then was ejected from the game. That pace was good enough to beat this projection and she should have something to prove on Wednesday.
Lenyn Sosa – Higher than 0.5 Hits
If you haven’t heard that much about Sosa this year, it’s only because he plays for the White Sox. He’s currently hitting .281 and has an 8-game hitting streak. The streak is impressive with just the number of games, but it’s even more impressive when you look at the numbers. In those eight games, he’s tallied 13 hits and is rocking a .464 batting average. Even with Kirby on the bump in this one, I expect him to find his way on base one time.
