Being a degen is a core principle of our SGPN family. Well, what’s more degen than sweating out how many 180s will be thrown in a darts match? Or how many kills a player will get in Call of Duty? Allow us to introduce our Degens Only Play of the Day, a pick so obscure, it will have you friends questioning your sanity.
Every day, we scour the books and DFS sites for that one special play off the beaten path. Today, we turn our attention to the FIBA Asia Cup where Australia and South Korea will lock horns for the first time in the group phase. The Aussies are looking to take home their third straight Asia Cup championship.
Degens Only Play of the Day – South Korea +21 vs. Australia
South Korea +21 vs. Australia (-115 VIA CAESEARS)
Australia enters the first game of their group phase having won seven of their last ten games going back to August of last year. However, it is 5-5 against this spread over that span. Their offense has averaged 97.5 points so far this year.

South Korea has won eight of its last ten matches dating back to February of last year. Even better, they are 9-1 against this spread in that span. They come into this round on a hot streak having won all five of their games this year. The South Koreans are averaging 91.4 points per game so far between their Asia Cup qualifiers and their friendlies.
This is not a matchup rich with history. These teams have met four times over the last 31 years. Australia has won all four outright dating back to their meeting in the first stage of the 1994 World Championship. However, South Korea has covered this spread in two of those four including the first of two matchups in round one of qualifying for the Asia Cup. They were three points away from covering in the second one as well.
BetMGM has South Korea as 19.5 point underdogs at a -110 discount. Taking the three point cushion for a little extra juice seems the better play here.
Good luck on this and all of your plays today. We’ll be back with another Degens Only Play of the Day tomorrow.
