Being a degen is a core principle of our SGPN listeners and readers. Well, what’s more degen than sweating out how many 180s will be thrown in a darts match? Or how many kills a player will get in Call of Duty? Allow us to introduce our Random Play of the Day, a pick so obscure, it will have you friends questioning your sanity.
Every day, we scour the books and DFS sites for that one special play off the beaten path. Today, we turn our attention to our friends in the Australian National Rugby League as they wrap up Round 22 of their season.
Degens Only Play of the Day: Jacob Kiraz Anytime Tryscorer
Canterbury Bulldogs vs. Wests Tigers I Jacob Kiraz Anytime Tryscorer (+150 via DraftKings)
Sunday, August 3rd, 12 a.m. ET
The Bulldogs are riding a three-match winning streak heading into this round. This is due in large part to the offensive contributions of winger Jacob Kiraz. The Sydney native has scored a try in each of his last two matches. Last week, he accounted for two of Canterbury’s seven tries in their 42-4 dismantling of the Manly Sea Eagles.
Overall this season, Kiraz has scored 7 in 12 appearances. He exploded for three tries in his team’s 38-18 win in Round 9 against the Gold Coast Titans. The young winger has accumulated 31 tries in his 71 career appearances.

The Tigers are allowing the fifth-most points on the ladder (492) this season. Wests has allowed at least five tries in four of their last five matches. This provides plenty of opportunity for Kiraz to find the tryline. One thing to keep an eye on is the fact that Kiraz will slide to the fullback position this week due to an injury to Connor Tracey. This could prove to be a small obstacle in his ability to score this week, but certainly not impossible.
BetMGM is more confident in Kiraz to score a try in this round as they are offering him at even money to reach the tryline. Take the added value DraftKings is offering and don’t look back.
Good luck on this and all of you plays today. We’ll be back with another Degens Only Play of the Day tomorrow.
