Underdog Fantasy – DFS Picks for August 1
Jack Leiter – Higher than 5.5 Strikeouts
Jack Leiter has been on fire as of late and I love the pitching matchup he’s getting on Friday. He’s gone for more than this number in four of his last five starts and gets Seattle who has a ton of swing and miss in their lineup. They currently rank 27th in the majors in strikeouts with 8.86 per game. He also threw against this same Mariners team at the end of June and snagged himself seven Ks. I expect him to match that again in this one.
Bria Hartley – Higher than 10.5 Points
This is a projection that makes little to no sense. In Hartley’s last five games, she has really took over some of the scoring for a Connecticut team that has had trouble scoring the rock. She is coming off a game with Seattle where her 17 points was the team high. That marked the fifth straight game with at least 11 points for Hartley and seven out of the last 10. In that five game span, she’s putting up 16.8 points per game. She should get another 11 here without breaking a sweat.
Kelsey Plum – Higher than 5.5 Assists
If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. On Tuesday, we played Plum’s assists at this same exact projection and she put up 8 dimes. That creates a run of games in which she’s gone for six or more assists in five straight games. She’s also hit that number in nine of her last 11 games. I’m not sure what would manage to keep her lower than in this one, but we’ll ride the hot hand.
