Underdog Fantasy – DFS Picks for July 27
Veronica Burton – Higher than 11.5 Points
We were burnt by Burton on Friday when she shot awful from the field. She ended the game 0-of-7 from the field and 0-of-5 from three-point. While she never found her rhythm, that didn’t stoip Golden State from getting her the ball. That trust in her is imporant as they move forward and look to the playoffs. Additionally, they head to Connecticut on Sunday, home of the worst defense in the WNBA. As long as they keep feeding her the rock, she’ll find a dozen points.
Brady Singer – Lower than 4.5 Strikeouts
Singer has not been all that great for the Reds as of late. He’s coming off of his worst outing of the year, where he went just 2.1 innings against the Nationals and allowed seven earned runs. In that start, he managed just a single strikeout. In fact, he’s only been able to find five or more strikeouts twice in the last five starts. Those came against the Yankees and the Rockies – two teams known for striking out a lot. The Rays are better than league average when it comes to striking out, which should keep Singer lower than this projection.
Noah Cameron – Higher than 5.5 Strikeouts
Noah Cameron has seen a huge uptick in strikeouts as of late. Going into July, he was averaging just 4.22 strikeouts per game. So far in July, he’s posted 6.75 per game, which includes some games against solid hitting teams. Cleveland might be a hard team to strikeout, but they are ranked below the Cubs in that category. And Cameron just so happens to be coming off of a start in Chicago where he fanned seven Cubs.
