Underdog Fantasy – DFS Picks for July 26
Jose Ochoa – Higher than 42.5 Significant Strikes
Jose Ochoa is best known in the UFC for having solid output. In his two fights, he’s shown serious pace and has racked up the significant strikes. In his last fight, he managed to put up 30 strikes in just over five minutes of work. He would have easily blown by this number had he not knocked out Cody Durden. Luckily for us (and not him), in this fight, he’ll get someone a bit more durable. Asu Almabayev has only been KO’ed once in the UFC and it took three rounds to happen. Even if Ochoa was able to get him out of there, it’ll be late enough for this projection to come through.
Billy Elekana – Higher than 22.5 Significant Strikes
This is another significant strike projection I like due to just how elusive Elekana can be. Perhaps he didn’t look that way in his fight UFC fight, but he took that on just a few days notice and clearly it affected his cardio. Now with a full training camp, I look for him to stick and move against Ibo Aslan. The projection is low due to Aslan’s power, but I think we could see this fight go deeper than people expect.
Ranger Suarez – Higher than 5.5 Strikeouts
Ranger Suarez has had a couple of tough outings lately. He has come up short of this projection and let up far more runs that he had previously. However, his run before that was solid. He had put up five straight games with at least six strikeouts. To make matters easier for him in this one, he’ll face a Yankees lineup that has plenty of swing and miss in it. They rank 24th in strikeouts with 8.71 per game and Suarez should be able to find six in there.
