When I was a boy, an American League team would only play a National League team in the World Series (and the All-Star Game, technically). Nowadays, it seems like every other series is an interleague one. Now, if you’ll excuse me, there’s a cloud outside that needs yelling at. ATLANTA BRAVES VS TEXAS RANGERS
Start Time: 2:35 PM EST
The thought was that once the Atlanta Braves got healthy, they would turn things around this season and start piling up the wins. That hasn’t exactly been the case (to be fair, their pitching staff is still decimated). Sitting at 44-57 as of this writing, the Braves have only won 12 of their last 30 games and sit near the basement of the majors in terms of win-loss record.
Atlanta is especially bad on the road, going 18-31 away from Truist Park. So, it comes as no surprise that I’m picking the Texas Rangers to handle the Braves on Sunday on their home field. While their record doesn’t reflect it (yet), the advanced stats have the Rangers ranked among the top 10 teams in the majors.
