San Francisco Giants vs Atlanta Braves

It’s getaway day in Atlanta tomorrow, so we’ve got an early start as the San Francisco Giants and the Atlanta Braves meet for the last time this season (barring a postseason matchup). Wednesday brings us an interesting pitching matchup, with Atlanta ace Spencer Strider going up against future Hall of Famer Justin Verlander.
Strider isn’t having much luck earning wins (4-7 on the season), but he’s still mowing down hitters, averaging 10.9 K’s per nine innings. And it’s Strider’s strikeout prop that I’ve zeroed in on tomorrow for my prop bet.
It’s not just because Strider is a flamethrower – the Giants also have a hand in this play. San Francisco batters strike out a lot, whiffing 8.45 times per game, which is in the bottom half of the majors. And Strider is coming off eight and 11 strikeout games heading into Wednesday’s start.
I like Strider to punch out over 7.5 San Francisco hitters tomorrow.
