The UFC octagon is on the move again this week, leaving the Smoothie Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, and heading across the world to the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, this coming Saturday for UFC Fight Night: Whittaker vs de Ridder (aka UFC Abu Dhabi). MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC Abu Dhabi
UFC Fight Night: Whittaker vs de Ridder (aka UFC Abu Dhabi)
Start Time: Saturday – Noon EST – (ABC/ESPN/ESPN+)
I have to admit that former ONE Championship two-division champion Reinier de Ridder has done much better in the UFC than I expected, finishing his first three opponents in the octagon. Now he gets himself a main event against former UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker on Saturday.
And I think RDR continues his hot run and beats Whittaker. Whittaker is coming off a brutal submission loss in his last fight that caused extensive damage to his jaw. I think the Dutch fighter can hold his own on the feet against Whittaker and use his next-level grappling to win the fight.
