The Washington Nationals are having another disappointing season, sitting at 41-60, and have the third-worst advanced stat ranking in the majors. However, they’re putting it on the Cincinnati Reds in their lone series this season, winning the first two games by a combined score of 16-9.
Maybe the Nationals are going to surge in the second half of the season and jump into the playoff race? Probably not. And I don’t expect them to complete the sweep of the Reds tomorrow afternoon. The 52-50 Reds are the superior team with the superior starter on the mound on Wednesday (Nick Lodolo vs Michael Soroka).
My numbers have Cincinnati as about a 1.5-run favorite for tomorrow, even after taking into account Washington’s home field advantage at Nationals Park (only worth 0.13 runs per game historically). So, the Reds on the moneyline is my best bet for Wednesday.
