Underdog Fantasy – DFS Picks for July 13
Noah Cameron – Higher than 4.5 Strikeouts
The first pick in our Underdog Fantasy entry for this Sunday is going to be Noah Cameron at home. While he made it to the majors by being a weak contact guy, he’s really stepped up his strikeout stuff as of late. In his last two starts (11.2 innings), he’s struck out 12 batters. Now he’ll get the Mets, who have had some issues with strikeouts lately. They fanned 11 times on Saturday and have gone down on strikes 9.67 times per game over their last three. Cameron should find five in there somewhere.
Ceddanne Rafaela – Higher than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
There are few players in the majors as hot as Rafaela right now. He’s riding a nine-game hit streak, but it’s far more than that. In that nine game stretch, he’s really filled out the stat sheet. In that span he’s posted 15 hits to go along with 13 RBIs and nine runs. Although he didn’t sore of Saturday, he actually scored in eight straight prior to that. It’ll help that he’s facing Ryan Pepiot, who he has a career .364 batting average against.
Hunter Brown – Higher than 6.5 Strikeouts
Brown has regularly been higher than this projection on the year. In fact, he’s been higher than it in four of his last six starts and in 67% of his starts this year. He’ll have to repeat the work against the Rangers, who are a middle of the pack team in terms of their swing and miss. However, they did strikeout 19 times on Saturday and has struck out 13 times per game over ther last three. Brown should breeze past seven in this one.
