NFL Longshot Picks On Underdog For The Longest Day Of The Year
The Rookie Pick’EM – 10X

Our first NFL longshot picks entry on Underdog Fantasy is a rookie pick’em combo! Featuring four different rookies from four different teams, this entry pays 10x the money on a standard entry and 6x on a flex entry. Let’s take a look at the picks!
First is Shedeur Sanders higher than 2.5 regular-season games started. This Browns’ quarterback situation is a really interesting one. With Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders, they may all get playing time. Still, I don’t expect them to have a very good season. Look for Sanders to find his way onto the field around mid-season and play in multiple games as they decide which rookie quarterback is their future franchise quarterback.
Next is Emeka Egbuka higher than 3.5 receiving touchdowns. Egbuka is already drawing praise from Baker Mayfield. While I’d normally consider this an offseason trope, that doesn’t feel like the case for Mayfield’s praise. He doesn’t normally talk just to talk. Egbuka has already drawn comparisons to Chris Godwin, who likely starts the season on the short game injured reserve.
The third pick is Cam Skattebo higher than 3.5 rushing touchdowns. Skattebo has a unique skill set that takes the right coach to utilize. I fully believe Brian Daboll is the right guy. Look for him to get opportunity, and turn that opportunity into touchdowns.
The last part of this pick ’em entry is Luther Burden higher than 474.5 receiving yards. Burden will likely win the slot receiver position. You don’t have to be a genius to know that slot receivers tend to do very well in Ben Johnson’s offense. Burden is about to burden defenses.
The AFC Playoff Starters – 13.1x
- Lamar Jackson HIGHER than 2.5 playoff games started
- Josh Allen HIGHER than 2.5 playoff games started
This is a fun one. Let’s say the Chiefs have another great year and get the number one seed. However, in this scenario, they don’t make it passed one of these teams. This may be a really fun narrative to root for in your NFL longshot picks. Essentially, if the AFC Championship Game is the Ravens vs. the Bills, you win.
This one plays 13.1 times the money.
Two Fades And A Tush Push – 6X
- Tyreek Hill LOWER than 999.5 receiving yards
- Christian McCaffrey LOWER than 999.5 rushing yards
- Jalen Hurts HIGHER than 12.5 rushing touchdowns
This one isn’t the highest payout among our NFL longshot picks on the longest day of the year. However, I still like it, and six times your money is nothing to throw out. This also pays 3X the money on a flex entry.
Tyreek Hill didn’t look great last year. Not to mention, it’s hard to trust Tua’s health. It’s possible he returns to form and gets back over 1,000 yards like he’s done in six of nine years. However, I think it’s time that he continues to decline. It’s hard to bounce back at his age, and he’s lost a touch of speed.
The same can be said for Christian McCaffrey, which makes me like taking lower than 999.5 rushing yards. Wildly enough, McCaffrey has gone over this just three times in his career. To top it off, he’s only done it once in the last six years.
Lastly, we’re backing Jalen Hurts to continue to bug the league with the “Tush Push”. He’s had higher than 12.5 rushing touchdowns in the last three seasons. A bunch of teams tried to get the Tush Push banned. I think it’s just going to make Hurts Tush Push even harder.
Two Bengals And A vet – 38.76x
- Ja’Marr Chase Most Regular Season Receiving Yards
- Joe Burrow Most Regular Season Passing Yards
- Adam Thielen LOWER than 624.5 Receiving Yards
This is the biggest payout on our NFL longshot picks entries on Underdog. A standard entry winner will pay 38.76x your money, while the flex entry pays 19.38x. Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase dominated stats last year. This is assuming they continue to do the same, despite how their team performs.
However, you can’t have an Underdog pick ’em entry with just one team. Therefore, Adam Thielen got picked on a little bit. Last year on the Panthers, the 34-year-old wide receiver had 615 yards in ten games. He’s older, more susceptible to injury, and the Panthers have a lot of receivers to step in. That includes first-round pick Tet McMillian and last year’s draft pick Xavier Legette. Sorry Thielen.
The Feels To Easy Pick’Em Entry – 15.4X
- James Cook HIGHER than 9.5 Rushing Touchdowns
- Josh Jacobs HIGHER than 0.5 Receiving Touchdowns
- Mike Evans HIGHER than 949.5 Receiving Yards
- Justin Fields HIGHER than 5.5 Rushing Touchdowns
- Baker Mayfield HIGHER than 0.5 Playoff Games Started
This pick’em entry of NFL longhsot picks is full of vets. Sure, some are older than others. However, they’re all experienced guys looking to continue to prove themselves.
James Cook had a breakout year last year, rushing for 1,009 yards and 16 rushing touchdowns. I absolutely think in his prove-it year for a big contract, that he’ll get to double-digit touchdowns.
Last year was Josh Jacobs’ first year not playing for the Las Vegas Raiders, as he took over the running back duties for the Green Bay Packers. It was also the first year he had a receiving touchdown. Jacobs will look to continue to be involved in the receiving game for the Packers and get another one.
Mike Evans has played 11 seasons. Mike Evans has had higher than 1000 receiving yards in 11 seasons. I’m not fading this guy until he gives me reason to. Mike Evans higher than 949.5 receiving yards feels like an easy play!
Justin Fields had five rushing touchdowns last year. Keep in mind, he didn’t start all year. After Week 6, Russel Wilson took over the quarterback duties. In those first six weeks, Fields ran for five touchdowns. Now, on a Jet’s team that looks like it’s ready to run the ball over and over, Fields should shine. Fields higher than 5.5 rushing touchdowns feel too easy.
Finally, Baker Mayfield higher than 0.5 a playoff game started. All the Bucs need to do is win a very winnable division like they did last year and make the playoffs. That feels too easy.
