Phoenix Mercury vs Connecticut Sun

Start Time – 7:00 PM EST

You don’t see back-to-backs in the WNBA very often, but the Connecticut Sun have one, having played in Indianapolis on Tuesday night, then heading home to host the Phoenix Mercury on Wednesday evening. And currently sitting at 2-9, with the worst advanced stat ranking in the whole league, the Sun don’t need handicaps like back-to-backs to help them lose games.

But at least they’re home in the Mohegan Sun Arena, right? Well, they are 1-4 at home and only 1-5 on the road, so technically they are better at home, yes. But they aren’t beating the Phoenix Mercury, who at 8-4 are a very solid WNBA team.

I had to fold quite a few factors into my formula to come up with a line for this game – both teams’ advanced stat performances, the home court advantage, and the back-to-back factor. After doing all of this and waving my magic wand, I’ve come up with the line of Phoenix -15.5. So the Mercury on the spread is my best bet for Wednesday’s lone WNBA game.
