UFC Vegas 107 Predictions & Best Bets
Erin Blanchfield (-230) vs Maycee Barber
One of those meaningful fights, naturally, would be in the main event, where women’s flyweights Erin Blanchfield and Maycee Barber could both be one win away from a title shot, depending on timing and how other fights in the division go.
While I’m not a fan of the line being this wide, I’m going with Blanchfield to win this fight. Both ladies are not sharp on their feet, but Blanchfield is an elite grappler, and Barber has shown an issue with being taken down in fights.
L’udovit Klein (+136) vs Mateusz Gamrot
The co-main event is a good matchup as well, which is a rarity for a UFC Apex card. Surging lightweight L’udovit Klein, winner of four straight fights and 6-0-1 over his past seven, gets a big step-up in competition as he faces #7 ranked Mateusz Gamrot on Saturday.
And I’m predicting “Mr Highlight” will pass this test. Gamrot is a smothering wrestler, but Klein is a solid grappler himself and a much better striker than his Polish opponent.
Billy Ray Goff (-350) vs Ramiz Brahimaj
And then the card takes a big step off a cliff. The third fight from the top features two fighters, Billy Ray Goff and Ramiz Brahimaj, who lost their original opponents for this fight card and were matched up last minute.
This is an unfortunate development for Brahimaj, as Goff is a nightmare matchup for the grappling-heavy fighter. Goff has some grappling in his game, but he’s going to absolutely style on Brahimaj in the striking department, and has a good shot at finishing him.
Macy Chiasson (-120) vs Ketlen Vieira
The final meaningful fight on Saturday is only meaningful because it’s in the women’s bantamweight division, which isn’t a very meaningful division. But, that being said, Macy Chiasson and Ketlen Vieira are both among the top contenders at 135 pounds.
Give me the much taller and longer Chiasson in this matchup, as I expect her to be a better striker. Plus, she’s finished two straight opponents, which makes you a top fighter at women’s bantamweight.
Andreas Gustafsson (-163) vs Trevin Giles
Unfortunately, I’m not the only person who was excited about the line we were getting for Andreas Gustafsson for his UFC debut, because it’s headed in the wrong direction. But I still like him to beat Trevin Giles on Saturday.
Giles is taking this fight on short notice, has lost three straight fights, and isn’t that good to begin with. Gustafsson, meanwhile, has TKO’d three straight opponents and five of his last six.
