NBA First Bucket Props – May 29
Indiana Pacers vs. New York Knicks
Tipoff – 8:00 pm EST
Madison Square Garden – New York, NY
Broadcast – TNT
After a first game that bucked the season-long trends, we got back to business in the next three games. In each of those, the Knicks won the tip and it immediately led to them scoring the first bucket. That could be expected with the Pacers being one of three teams with a tip win rate under 30% during the regular season. Additionally, the Knicks posted solid numbers on the jump. With tip winners during the regular season getting 65.7% of the first buckets, there is no reason not to continue with this trend.
I may be beating a dead horse in this one, but I really do like Mikal Bridges to score first for the Knicks. We’ve been on him for the bulk of this series because of his early volume. He took the Knicks’ second shot in Game 4. In fact, he had solid early action in the other three games as well. He took the second shot in Game 3, the fourth in Game 2, and the Knicks’ first shot in Game 1. He’s also scoring at a decent clip, which gives me hope that this could be the one.
