By the time you read this, half of this year’s Stanley Cup Finals participants could be determined. However, the NHL’s Western Conference Finals series looks like it will be a more prolonged battle. Best Bet For Tuesday (May 27th): NHL Predictions
Dallas Stars vs Edmonton Oilers
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
Edmonton Oilers’ goalie Stuart Skinner actually let a puck get past him in Game 3, which qualifies as a bad outing for him. Skinner now has three shutouts and a one-goal outing over his last five games (we’ll ignore the other game where he let in five goals). Goaltending was always the question mark with the Oilers – maybe they’ve got themselves a hot enough goalie to go all the way this season.
Other than a one-goal loss to the Los Angeles Kings, the Oilers have been unbeatable in their other five games at Rogers Place this postseason run. And the Dallas Stars have been abysmal away from Texas, only winning two out of their seven road games.
Perhaps it’s a bit reductive, but picking your winner based on who is at home and who has the hot goalie is a winning method. Edmonton on the moneyline is my best bet for Tuesday.
