We had a day to catch our breath (and for me to whiff on both my WNBA plays, ouch), but the NBA Playoffs are back up and running on Sunday, with a Game 7! Then it’s off to the Conference Finals for us. Here are your NBA predictions and preview for Sunday, May 18th.
NBA Predictions & Preview For Sunday, May 18th
Denver Nuggets vs Oklahoma City Thunder
Start Time – 3:30 PM EST
Tomorrow afternoon’s Game 7 between the Denver Nuggets and the Oklahoma City Thunder may as well be Game 7 of the NBA Finals – there’s a good chance that this game’s winner will be crowned champions next month.
That’s especially true if the Thunder win, as they are a 60% favorite (or higher) to win the NBA Championship this season. And if the Thunder, the NBA’s best team during the regular season, do go on to hoist the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy in June, this series will be cited as their coming-of-age moment.
I’m expecting the Thunder to get the job done at home. Denver has three key players on the injury report for tomorrow: Jamal Murray, Russell Westbrook, and Aaron Gordon, with Gordon listed as questionable to play due to an injured hamstring. I think the Nuggets are too undermanned to get the job done on the road.
However (there’s a however), I am not betting on a Nikola Jokic-led team to lose a Game 7 in a blowout. The spread is too wide in my eyes, so Denver plus the points is my play.
Best Bet: Denver +8.5 (-110)
Overall Record: 189-156 (55%)
Profit (based on $100/bet): $1,671.33
Return on Investment: 5%
