MMA Regional Pick of the Week: Oktagon 71
Oktagon Lightweight Fight: Hafeni Nafuka vs George Staines
Card Start Time: Saturday (5/17), 12:00am EST (Oktagon TV)
The early part of this card has a lightweight tilt that features a pair of prospects. I feel that Hafeni Nafuka is being wildly underrated due to a couple of tough losses. He was outed in the first round of the Tipsport Gamechanger last year and then was beat by Ivan Buchinger in his last fight. However, he was competitive in both of those fights.
George Staines has not faced that same level of competition. Additionally, his style of working his long striking and sharp grappling is likely not going to fly in this one. Nafuka will likely crowd him and be too strong to takedown consistently.
With those factors in play, I like Nafuka at the dog price here. Look for him to do damage early in the fight.
