NBA First Bucket Props – May 2
Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors
Tipoff – 9:00 pm EST
Chase Center – San Francisco, CA
Broadcast – ESPN
In the lone game on Friday, we see the Rockets head to San Francisco for Game 6. The Rockets have been slightly better at scoring first so far this series. They’ve picked up three of the first five first buckets despite winning just two tips. However, as the season-long data shows us, this should continue to lean to the Rockets. Not only do they have a nominal lead when it comes to winning the tip – which in theory should come back to them on Friday – but they also are far better at scoring first. They’re a top ten team when it comes to the first bucket, whereas the Warriors rank in the bottom third of the league. As a result, I like the Rockets to score first at -105.
If we’re getting greedy and going with an individual player, I like Alperen Sengun. He was void from the early shot log in the first part of this series, but they’ve been working the ball down to him more frequently lately. He took two of the first three shots in the last game and one of the first three in the game prior. That volume looks good to me and makes him my lone play for the day.
