Saturday is (almost) here again, so that means it’s UFC time. The UFC is back in the UFC Apex tomorrow for a Fight Night card that wasn’t very strong to begin with, then lost two fights on Friday due to weight-cutting mishaps. Oh well – we’ll still win money on it. For my best bet for Saturday, March 1st: UFC Predictions, I’ve got a winning play coming on the prelim portion of the card. Let’s go!

UFC FIGHT NIGHT: KAPE VS ALMABAYAEV (AKA UFC VEGAS 103)
Start Time: 4:00 PM EST (ESPN+)
My best bet for tomorrow got even better today, as pick – Danny Silva – had his opponent – Lucas Almeida – come in heavy on the scales. The fight will proceed, Silva will get 20% of Almeida’s purse, and Almeida’s chances of winning have decreased. That’s because fighters that miss weight only win 41% of the time, historically.
As for the technical breakdown of the fight, ‘El Puma’ Silva is six years younger, a better and more powerful striker, and a better grappler. It’s mostly on the ground – the wrestling and the grappling – that I see Silva dominating. And he’s knocked out five of his nine professional victims, so if you want to take the T/KO prop, that’s a nice play as well.
