Invicta FC Bantamweight Fight: Mayra Cantuária vs Olga Rubin
Card Start Time: Friday (2/7), 5:30pm EST (CBS Sports)
Olga Rubin fell short in her title bid last time out. As it was in the past, it was her willingness to go to the mat that cost her. She’s so high on her own submission game that is sometimes cost her position and, as a result, rounds. The shame of this all is that she is actually quite technical on the feet and could easily win fights there. She uses a solid push kick and maintains excellent range.
Lucky for Rubin in this one is that she’s fighting the perfect style. Cantuária isn’t the type that is going to shoot all that many takedowns. Additionally, she likes to brawl and has trouble cutting off angles. That problem should be compounded by the range and kicks of Rubin.
Expect Rubin to frustrate on the feet as well as get the better of the ground game.
