Best Bet For Friday (January 10th): College Football Predictions
Ohio State Buckeyes vs Texas Longhorns
Start Time – 7:30 PM EST
This is another in a long line of College Football Playoff games where the lower-seeded team – in this case, THE #8 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes – is favored heading into a game against a higher-seed – in this case the #5 ranked Texas Longhorns. It makes sense, as the Buckeyes are the top-ranked team based on advanced stats, and are rolling.
Yet my best bet for Friday is Texas on the spread. Yes, Ohio State is a better team, but the gap between them and Texas isn’t six points. By my math, the widest the spread should be here is four points in the Buckeyes’ favor. Plus, with the Longhorns technically being the ‘home team’ in this matchup, considering the game is being played in Texas, you have to imagine that’s worth a point or two in their favor as well.
Give me Texas as a live dog.
