The Kansas City Chiefs starters are getting 24 days of rest. The team hasn’t played since Christmas Day, and they’ll be resting their starters this week. They’ve already secured their first-round bye by clinching the #1 seed in the AFC playoffs. Carson Wentz will be the Chiefs starter in Week 18 against the Broncos.

This whole situation works out well for those of us who want to bet on player props. Courtland Sutton is just 82 yards away from 1,000 on the season and a 500k bonus that awaits him. The Broncos’ number one priority is going to be to win, which is good for Sutton. After that, if he’s not already there, it’s going to be to get him to that number. Sutton has already hit this number in five of his last nine games.

Yes, it’s the Broncos starters who’ve been impressive this year and great against the spread. Yes, they are battling against the backups for Kansas City. However, this is still a lot of points to lay against a good team. The Chiefs haven’t played since Christmas Day and have had plenty of time to install an offense for Wentz and the boys this week.
Wentz is playing to put some good film out there for more potential options down the road. He’s also been a starter before and is a competent quarterback. Denver wins this game, but I think Kansas City keeps it somewhat close at the end of the day.
