The New Year kicks off in fine style tomorrow for college football fans, with the remaining three College Football Playoff Quarterfinal games going down. I already gave out my winning pick for one of the games – now I’m parlaying the other two games together for a winning play. Texas Longhorns vs Arizona State Sun Devils
Start Time – 1:00 PM EST
The first game of the day is the Texas Longhorns and the Arizona State Sun Devils hooking up at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Despite the Sun Devils being the higher-ranked squad (#4 vs #5), they are a massive dog to the Longhorns.
Yet they’re a dog I’m willing to get in on. Based on my calculations, Texas shouldn’t be more than an eight-point favorite in this spot, so the value is on the Arizona State side.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs Georgia Bulldogs
Start Time – 8:45 PM EST
The late game of the day takes us to the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans for the Allstate Sugar Bowl. The #2 ranked Georgia Bulldogs meet the #7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish, with the game pretty much a pick ’em.
And this is another spot where I’m in on the (slight) dog. Notre Dame should actually be favored by four points by my math, so the Fighting Irish on the spread is the second half of my parlay.
