Detroit Lions at San Francisco 49ers Preview and Predictions

Detroit Lions at San Francisco 49ers Preview and PredictionsThe final regular season Monday Night Football game for the 2024 season takes place in the Bay Area! The Lions are looking to stay atop the NFC North but it all comes down to Week 18 against the Vikings. You could say this is a “meaningless” game for the Lions as they may be looking ahead to next week. Below are my Lions at 49ers Preview and Predictions for the game!

The NFC North division is one of two divisions still up for grabs for this season! The Lions have the Vikings breathing down their necks for the division and the #1 seed in the NFC. And next week it’s for all the marbles in the NFC. The Lions come into this game healthy with only Kalif Raymond out with a foot injury. Of course, David Montgomery will miss the game as he recovers from the knee injury.

For the 49ers, it is a season to put behind them as they’ve dealt with injuries on both sides of the ball. For Monday night, the 49ers will be without Dre Greenlaw and a few depth pieces.

So the question becomes for the Detroit Lions how much are they looking ahead to the Week 18 matchup against the Lions? That game will be for the NFC North division and the #1 seed in the NFC. It doesn’t get much bigger than that as a look-ahead spot. However, the Lions on the road this season have nearly been perfect. They are 7-0 SU and 6-1 ATS.

Meanwhile, the 49ers have pride to play for this game as their playoff hopes diminished a few weeks ago. However, I have to throw the stats out the window in this game. I believe that Dan Campbell and his coaching staff will do everything to keep their team healthy for next week. I’ll take the points here with the 49ers.

Brock Purdy over 254.5 Passing Yards

The one player who has been consistent this season and healthy has been Brock Purdy. Despite Isaac Guerendo playing in this game, I believe the 49ers will continue to air it out in this game. The Lions throughout the season have gotten out to multiple possession leads and forced teams to play from behind. I’ll bank on Purdy to have a big night throwing the football and raking up the yards!
