Another week and another quarterback injury in the NFL. Derek Carr suffered another injury in Week 14 which will keep him out possibly for the rest of the season. Jake Haener will get the start for the Saints who injuries on both sides of the football have decimated. Meanwhile, the Commanders got off to a hot start to the season and look to get back to the winning side of the season. Below are my Commanders at Saints Preview and Predictions.
As I mentioned above, the Saints are dealing with significant injuries on the team. Jake Haener will get the start for the Saints at quarterback. The Saints have been without Chris Olave, Rasheed Shahid, and Taysom Hill to name a few. Meanwhile, the Commanders come into this game healthy and the only player who will be out for the team will be wide receiver Noah Brown.
The Commanders currently sit as the 7th seed in the NFC Wild Card picture and every game will have significant implications for the playoff picture. Motivation should not be a question for the Commanders in this game.
Commanders at Saints Preview and Predictions
Best Bets
I am going to keep this one simple. The Saints are starting several backups in this game due to the injuries on offense. Last week, the Saints were only able to muster 14 points against the Giants’ defense. If the Commanders want to stay in the Wild Card race, they have to win this game.
Since the 2022 season, the Saints are just 9-14 ATS at home. The Commanders have been a profitable team on the road against the spread. In fact, the Commander are 3-2-1 ATS on the road thus far this season. I expect a comfortable win here for the Commanders.
Best Bet: Commanders -7.5

Brian Robinson Jr. Over 74.5 Rushing Yards
The Saints rush defense is allowing the 9th most rushing yards per game this season. Furthermore, the Saints are allowing 5.3 yards per carry this season. In a game where the Saints are decimated by injuries and are starting a backup quarterback, I wouldn’t be shocked to see the Commanders with a run-heavy game plan. Lastly, Robinson Jr. is coming off a 100+ rushing-yard game against the Titans. I would expect him to continue that momentum in this game.
