Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings Preview and Predictions

Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings Preview and Predictions

The first game of a Monday Night Football doubleheader takes place at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. It’s an NFC North showdown between Sam Darnold and the Minnesota Vikings and Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears. These teams met just three weeks ago, where the Vikings held on for a three-point victory. Let’s jump in and take a look at this Bears-Vikings preview and predictions.

The Chicago Bears started the season 4-2 and excitement was bubbling in Chicago. They lost in Week 8 to the Washington Commander on a last second Hail Mary that seems to have broken the team. They’ve now lost seven games in a row and fired their head coach. They sit at just 4-9 heading into this Werk 15 matchup.

For Minnesota, it’s been an unbelievable season. The Vikings are 11-2 and currently on a six-game win streak. They are just one game behind the Detroit Lions in the NFC North, which puts them fifth in the NFC playoff picture as the first Wild Card team.

Aaron Jones Over 82.5 Rush + Receiving Yards (-110)

I had the privilege to write this same game preview a few weeks ago when these teams matched up. I gave out this same bet, which was 80.5 yards at the time. Jones ended up with 129 yards on the day. It’s good to see the books haven’t learned much and only set it at 82.5 this week.

Aaron Jones loved playing against the Chicago Bears twice a year when he was a member of the Green Bay Packers. In seven of his last nine games against the Bears, he’s surpassed this number. The Vikings have used him plenty in the same way the Packers did. Jones has cruised past the 82-yard mark in nine of the Vikings’ 13 games this season.
He’s already done it this year against them and has a long history against them of getting it done. Let’s run it back once again and cash out on Jones vs the Bears.

Minnesota Vikings -6 (-115)

Both of these teams have been good against the spread in 2024, but the Vikings have been a little better. They are 8-6-1 on the season ATS. The Bears kept it close a few weeks ago, but the team has fallen apart, and Minnesota has learned to not look past this team.
After three demoralizing losses to division opponents, it all went off the rails against the San Francisco 49ers last week where the Bears lost 38-13. I don’t see it getting better as they close out the season with an interim head coach and a rookie quarterback. Give me Sam Darnold and the Vikings Monday.
