Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans Preview and Predictions

It’s an AFC South showdown in Nashville on Sunday. The Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans meet for the first time this season in Week 14. They’ll meet again in just three weeks for their second matchup of the season. This one is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff on CBS from Nissan Stadium. Let’s jump in and take a look at this Jaguars-Titans preview and predictions.

Jacksville’s season hasn’t gone as smoothly as they’d hoped. Now, they are without quarterback Trevor Lawrence who took a brutal hit in Week 13 from Texan linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair. Al-Shaair has been suspended three games from that hit. Lawrence needs surgery to repair an AC Joint, and won’t return with the Jaguars being out of the mix at just 2-9. Max Jones will once again start for the team.

Tennessee’s season hasn’t been much better than Jacksonville’s. At just 3-9, the Titans have lost three of their last four games. The Titans injury report looks a lot like their lost games column, it’s very full. Some good news for the team is defensive back Chidobe Awuzie returned to a full practice for the first time in a while and looks on track to play Sunday.

Brian Thomas Jr Over 60 Receiving Yards (+105)

The Jaguars rookie wide receiver has looked every bit the part for the Jaguars in 2024. Even with Trevor Lawrence missing some time, Mac Jones was able to find the young star receiver for 76 yards last week. Thomas has eclipsed 60 yards in seven of the Jaguars’ 12 games in 2024, including each of the last two weeks. Look for the Jaguars to continue to feed Thomas.

Jacksonville Jaguars +4 (-115)

Neither of these teams is good enough to justify being four point favorites. Both teams are no good, and have struggled throughout the season. The Titans have been really bad against the spread in 2024. They rank dead last ATS with a record of just 2-10. On the other hand, Jacksonville is a modest 6-5-1 ATS.

Mac Jones has shown to be a competent quarterback, and you simply can’t trust Will Levis or this Titans team as a four-point favorite. Jacksonville could easily win what should be an ugly game, and can certainly keep it within a field goal at the end of the day.
