The biggest injury news this week surrounds the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers will be without starting quarterback Brock Purdy and defensive end Nick Bosa. This is a huge game for both teams in the playoff picture especially for the 49ers who are in a team race in the NFC West. Meanwhile, the Packers are healthy on the offensive side of the football but will be without cornerback Jaire Alexander. The question in this game will become can the 49ers’ defense keep the team in the game? Additionally, can the 49ers play mistake-free football to give themselves an opportunity to pull off the upset? Thus far this season, the Packers at home are 3-2 SU and 2-3 ATS. Over the last three seasons, the Packers are 13-8 SU and 11-10 ATS at home. The Packers are sitting as a 5.5-point favorite in this game and I feel this is a game that the 49ers can turn their season around despite being without their starting quarterback.
The one concerning part for the Packers is Jordan Love’s propensity to throw interceptions. Jordan Love has thrown the ball to the other team in eight straight games, which is in every game he has played in this season. The 49ers have enough talent on the offensive side to stay in this game and if Love turns the ball over that could be the difference between winning or losing this game. It’s going to take a total team effort from the 49ers to win this game and I believe they will!

As I mentioned above, Brandon Allen will get the start for the 49ers for the injured Brock Purdy. I believe this is a spot where the 49ers will want to be careful and utilize McCaffrey out of the backfield in the running game. McCaffrey is no stranger to being involved in the passing game. I believe he will be the safety valve for Allen and get the receptions and targets in this game. The Packers are allowing 36 receiving yards per game to the running back position this season.
