To many the Chargers have surprised the league this season with their play. Yes, the schedule has been easier this season but they have taken care of business. The Chargers sit with a record of 6-3 in the AFC West division. Meanwhile, the Bengals are two games under .500 and are on the cusp of falling even further in the Wild Card standings.
On the injury front, the Bengals have three questionable tags on Trey Hendrickson, Tee Higgins, and Joe Burrow. All indications are that Burrow should suit for the game. The big question mark will be if Higgins is able to return for the Bengals. Meanwhile, for the Chargers the biggest question will be Khalil Mack is able to play in this game as he did practice all week for the Chargers.

Both teams are in a look ahead spot this week. First, the Chargers will face the Ravens next week in a battle of the Harbaugh brothers. Additionally, the Bengals have a division game on deck. However, this is a game that the Bengals can not look past if they want any chance to make the playoffs.
The Bengals have struggled to say the least on the defensive side of the football. Yes, Burrow and Chase have both looked great for the Bengals but this team can not seem to find ways to stop the opposing offense. However, this will the sixth road game this season for the Bengals and they are 3-2 SU and a perfect 5-0 ATS.
Meanwhile, for the Chargers their schedule of teams played has been on the easier side. This is another great opportunity to tease up the Bengals through the key numbers and get it to 7.5. However, I do believe the Bengals will get it done this week to keep their playoff hopes available against a team who will also be in the Wild Card picture.

As I mentioned above, the Chargers have made a shift to play hard nose defense and they have been focused on been a stout rush defense. The Chargers are allowing only 81.4 rushing yards per game but I believe this is a game that will be decided on Burrow’s shoulders. Only two running backs have exceeded this projection this season against the Chargers. I do not believe Chase Brown will be heavily relied upon in the running game.
