The Detroit Lions are coming off a come-from-behind Sunday Night Football game against the Houston Texans. Jared Goff and the offensive had to overcome a five-interception game. Additionally, the Lions offense gets Taylor Decker back in this game but the status of tight end Sam LaPorta is up in the air.
Meanwhile, the Jaguars are in contention for the #1 pick in the upcoming NFL draft. The Jaguars will start Mac Jones for a second straight week and have a tall order against the Lions at home who are a very profitable team. Questions surrounding Doug Pederson as the head coach of this Jaguars team and the future continue to loom. Furthermore, the Jaguars could be without Tank Bigsby in this game who is dealing with an injury and has been limited in practice.

This is a game that I won’t second guess. The Lions are a team that has been profitable at home over the past several seasons. Since 2022, the Lions as a home favorite are 14-4 SU and 12-6 straight up. In those games, the Lions are averaging 33.2 points per game. I expect a focused effort from the Lions in this game and plenty of offensive success.
The Jaguars over the last three weeks are allowing 192 rushing per game which is the most in the entire league in that span. Further, the passing defense has been terrible as well as they are allowing quarterbacks to average 281 passing yards in their road games. I expect the Lions offense to be firing on all cylinders.

The theme this season has been to fade the Jaguars pass defense and that’s continuing this week against the Lions. Over the last three weeks, the Jaguars have allowed 231.7 passing yards per game. Further, this season, every quarterback has thrown for 225 or more yards in nine of the ten games. The only quarterback that didn’t was Deshaun Watson in Week 2.
On the road this season, the Jaguars have allowed all four quarterbacks to throw for 230+ passing yards and are allowing an average of 281 passing yards. Lastly, since 2022, he has thrown for 222 or more passing yards in 17 of the 21 games. I expect Goff to continue to feast in this game, I love the Over 221.5.
