Tomorrow night’s game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Baltimore Ravens is a rematch, as the Ravens squeaked out a three-point overtime win in a crazy game at Cincinnati last month. And I expect Baltimore to leave the field at M&T Bank Stadium victorious again tomorrow night. But whether they cover the spread or not is an important question that needs to be answered.
I’m a big fan of Football Reference’s Simple Rating System (based on point differential and strength of schedule), and they have the Ravens ranked as the fourth-best team in the NFL this season, while Cincinnati is ranked 22nd. Baltimore has the better offense and defense, has played the tougher schedule, and is beating opponents by an average of seven points per game this season. I have this line pegged at Baltimore -12, so I’ll happily take it for half of that.
