Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders Preview and Predictions

Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders Preview and Predictions

If there ever was a matchup that the Chiefs offense can get back on track it is in Week 8 against the Raiders. The Chiefs are 6-0 thus far this season and as crazy as it may sound it hasn’t been overly impressive. Now, you can’t fault the offense, especially with all the injuries the Chiefs are dealing with on the offensive side. The Raiders meanwhile are in the post-Davante Adams era and Antonio Pierce seems to be in over his head as a head coach in the NFL. Below are my Chiefs at Raiders Preview and Predictions.

As I mentioned above, Patrick Mahomes has this game against the Raiders circled. If we go back to the beginning of the season, the Raiders brought out a Kermit The Frog puppet impersonating Patrick Mahomes. Not a smart move Raiders. So I expect Patrick Mahomes and company to come out blazing in this game. Aside from that, the Chiefs made a much-needed trade to add to their wide receiving room adding DeAndre Hopkins.

Meanwhile, the Raiders will start Gardner Minshew in this game as Aidan O’Connell suffered an injury last week against the Rams. The offense and defense have been a shell of themselves this season and the task does not get any easier this week against a Chiefs team that has owned the Raiders.

Best Bets

The Kansas City Chiefs have had plenty of success against the Las Vegas Raiders throughout Mahomes career. In fact, since 2018, the Chiefs against the Raiders on the road are 6-0 SU and 4-2 ATS. The Chiefs have won those six games by an average of 17.6 points per game. The last two matchups in Vegas have resulted in 14 and 18-point victories.

Despite the struggles for the Chiefs on the offensive end Mahomes and company will be ready and extra motivated for this game. We know that Mahomes had this game circled before the season started. I expect the Chiefs to pour it on in a game where the Raiders will be severely out-coached.

Best Bet: Chiefs -9.5

Patrick Mahomes Over 236.5 Passing Yards

This is the game that Patrick Mahomes has circled after what transpired in training camp with the Raiders pulling out the Kermit The Frog puppet impersonating Mahomes. Mahomes was asked about it before the season starts and he said “It will get handled, when it gets handled.” With the addition of Hopkins to the offense alongside Travis Kelce and Kareem Hunt, I expect Mahomes to have a huge game against this Raiders pass defense.
