Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans Preview and Predictions

Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans Preview and Predictions

A battle of AFC South teams takes place in Houston between the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts. These two teams matched up in Houston in Week 1. The Texans won 29-27 on the road against the Colts. The Colts look to avenge their loss from earlier this season in Houston this week. Below are my Colts at Texans Preview and Predictions.

The injuries to Anthony Richardson continued early this season after missing the majority of last year with a shoulder injury. Richardson made his return last week for the Colts and was only able to accumulate 129 passing yards. The Colts could be getting running back Jonathan Taylor back this week.

Meanwhile, the Texans are dealing with plenty of injuries on defense. Azeez Al-Shaair, Henry To’oTo’o, Jimmy Ward, and Kamari Lassiter are all questionable for this game. Furthermore, right tackle Tyus Howard is listed as questionable.

Best Bets

The Houston Texans haven’t fared very well against the spread this season. In fact, the Texans are only 3-4 ATS meanwhile the Colts are 6-1 ATS and 2-1 ATS on the road. The last two meetings have been decided by four points or less. I believe the Colts match up well against the Texans and Shane Steichen creates a great game plan against the Texans.

The Texans will be without their top wide receiver Nico Collins who continues to recover from a hamstring injury. Since 2018, the Colts are 8-4 ATS against the Texans and a perfect 6-0 in Houston. I don’t think the Texans should be favored by more than a field goal in this game. Lastly, the Texans are going to be on a short week and will travel to MetLife Stadium to take on the Jets!

Best Bet: Colts +5

Joe Mixon Over 76.5 Rushing Yards

As I mentioned above, these two teams matched up in Week 1 and Joe Mixon had a very successful game on the ground. In fact, Mixon ran for 159 yards on 30 carries. Additionally, Mixon has ran 100+ rushing yards in three out of the four games he’s started. The lone game he didn’t was in Week 2 where he got injured. The Colts continue to be one of the worst rush defenses. They are allowing 125 rushing yards per game on 4.4 yards per carry.
