Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – October 17
Aaron Judge – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases
Judge may only have two hits in his last three games, but he’s made them count. Both of them went for extra bases – a double in the clinching game of the Royals series and a dinger in the last of the games at Yankee Stadium. The fact that we can harness that power at any time to meet this projection with one swing is already good enough for me. When you add in the Judge took Boyd long the last time he saw him, it just makes it easier for me.
Matthew Boyd – Higher than 3.5 Strikeouts
While Matthew Boyd hasn’t been going deep into games, he has been wildly effective in terms of getting batters to fan. He threw just two innings in his last start and tallied just 33 pitches. Still, he managed to accumulate five strikeouts – well above this projection. August 20th was the last time he started a game and managed to fall short of this number.
Kike Hernandez – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases
Kike Hernandez has arguably been one of the hottest hitters on the Dodgers. In five postseason games, he has seven hits with two of them leaving the park. As a result, he’s been over this mark in four of those five games. With the Dodgers swinging the bats the way they have in this series, he should also get plenty of trips to the plate.
