MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – October 11
San Diego Padres vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
First Pitch – 8:08 pm EST
Dodger Stadium – Los Angeles, Califnornia

The lone playoff start for Yoshinobu Yamamoto might not instill the confidence that you need for this NRFI. He got tagged around by the Padres for five runs in just three innings. However, that start seems like an anomaly when you consider his larger body of work since coming back from injury. He returned in early September and managed a 3.38 ERA in four starts. He also struck out 21 batters in just 16.0 innings. His fly balls have up ticked just a bit in that span, which is cause for concern, but I don’t think it’s enough to get off the NRFI.
While the Dodgers have been the better hitting team all year, this bottom of the inning should be way less of a sweat on the pitching side. Yu Darvish looked sensational in his first postseason start this year. He went 7.0 strong with just a single earned run and picked up the win. His first inning in that game was a breeze, striking out both Freddie Freeman and Shohei Ohtani, and getting Mookie Betts to fly out. He’s posted solid numbers historically in the postseason and I really see no reason for that to change here.
