Washington Commanders at Baltimore Ravens Preview and Predictions

It’s a matchup of two former Heisman Trophy winners in this 1:00 p.m. ET CBS kickoff. Rookie Jayden Daniels, the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner out of LSU will take his red-hot Washington Commanders team to M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. There they’ll face the 2016 Heisman Trophy winner from Louisville Lamar Jackson. Let’s take a look at this Commanders-Ravens preview.

Daniels and the Washington Commanders burst onto the scene in 2024. It’s very reminiscent of the 2023 version of the Houston Texans. After being picked #2 overall in the NFL Draft, Daniels has looked every part of the professional Washington hoped they’d get. They enter this game with a 4-1 record with impressive wins over the Bengals, Browns, and Cardinals. Their one loss came in Week 2 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Ravens opened the season 0-2 with a close loss to the Chiefs in week one and a shocking loss to the Raiders in Week 2. Since then, they’ve looked almost unstoppable beating the Cowboys in Week 3 before blowing out the Bills Week 4 on Sunday Night Football. Week 5 was an overtime thriller where they beat the Bengals 41-38.

Game Total Over 50.5 Points (-116)

This is a simple case of two of the best offenses in the NFL going head-to-head on Sunday. Both teams are firing on all cylinders heading into this Week 6 matchup. The Ravens alone dropped 41 points last week and 35 the week before. They are averaging 29.4 points per game through five weeks, and have scored more points than the week before in each game.

On the other side of the field, the Commanders put up 34 last week against Cleveland, 42 against Arizona, and 38 against Cincinnati. Washington is averaging 34.4 points per game. These juggernaut offenses show no signs of slowing down.

Lamar Jackson Over 58.5 Rushing Yards (-117)

Drop Lamar into a big game against another stud quarterback and he’ll do everything he can to show why he’s a two-time and the defending NFL MVP. Look no further than Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs where Jackson ran the ball 16 times for 122 yards. Week 3 against Dak Prescott, Lamar went for another 87 on the ground. He’s rushed for at least 45 yards in all five games and we all know, Lamar can crack one big run and cash this at any point in the game.
