Lock Selection: New York Jets

It’s been really rough in the survivor streets his season. The largest spread each week has lost outright. This week, I’ll be rolling with Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets. The Jets are coming off an impressive performance against the Patriots last Thursday. Aaron Rodgers looked like his vintage self, rolling out of the pocket, making plays with his legs, and slinging the rock. The Jets defense also looked solid, granted it was against the Patriots. They were able to get to Jacoby Brissett and wreck the game.

They’ll be taking on the Denver Broncos coming off their demolition of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bo Nix showed real promise in Week 3 but still has not thrown for a TD.

Overall, this Jets team is way more talented than the Broncos, and if they want to be serious contenders in the AFC, this is a team they should roll. I think this Jets’ defense will give Nix some headaches in the pocket. We’ll see if he can extend plays and make moves with his legs like he did against the Bucs. Especially with the rest advantage, give me the Jets!

Contrarian Selection: Cincinnati Bengals

Call me crazy, but I’m picking the Bengals again, this time for my contrarian selection. The Bengals NEED to win a game and now play probably the worst team in football. Carolina is super inflated after their 36-22 win against the Raiders. The Panthers made the switch at quarterback to Andy Dalton, and all of a sudden were able to move the ball up and down the field. Not good at all for Bryce Young’s stock.

I mean, if the Bengals had to win against the Commanders, they MUST MUST MUST win against the Panthers if they want any shot at the playoffs. Jayden Daniels was killing the Bengals, picking up huge first downs with his legs. They won’t have to worry about any scrambling with Andy Dalton out there, but their health at DT seems to be a continuous issue.

I think Burrow should be able to dissect this underwhelming Panthers defense; it’s just a matter of if the Bengals can get some stops after not forcing a single punt on Monday.
