Monday Night Football features a battle of the birds! The Atlanta Falcons visit the Philadelphia Eagles for this Week 2 matchup. The Falcons lost their first game of the season. Meanwhile, the Eagles won in Week 1 in Brazil against the Packers. The Eagles come into this game with extended rest and their top wide receiver who will be out for this game. Below are is my Falcons at Eagles predictions!
Falcons at Eagles Predictions
The Eagles come into this game without their top wide receiver A.J. Brown who is dealing with a hamstring injury. Even with extended rest the Eagles’ star receiver will not able to play in this game. Meanwhile, the Falcons who lost in Week 1 against the Steelers at home leave much to be desired. Kirk Cousins in his first game with his new team and coming off an Achilles injury certainly had rust on him.
This is big game for the Falcons who do not want to fall to 0-2 especially with the Saints and Buccaneers winning each of their first two games of the season. The pre-season NFC South division favorite early in the season is in a must-win situation.
Best Bets
The big concern I have in this game is the Eagles’ defense, especially in the secondary. We saw in Week 1 against the Packers that the Eagles’ secondary allowed big explosive plays to the Packers. Does that have to do with the field conditions in Brazil? Possibly. However, the Falcons possess plenty of weapons on the offensive side to exploit the Eagles defense. I do like the addition of Kellen Moore as the offensive coordinator for the Eagles.
Since the 2020 season, as the home favorite, the Eagles have been dominant. In fact, the Eagles are 20-4 SU, 14-9-2 ATS, and 16-9 to the over. I do believe this game can turn into a shootout with the skill position talent on both teams. I expect points to be had.
Best Bet: Falcons/Eagles Over 46
