We continue our team previews of the AFC South. This is the 2024 Indianapolis Colts Fantasy Football Preview. Answering the biggest question, is Anthony Richardson a Top 5 QB? There is a lot of hype around Anthony Richardson, he is being drafted as QB6 right now. This offense was one of the most improved in the NFL last year under Head Coach Shane Steichen. Both Anthony Richardson and Gardner Minshew had success in 2023.
Minshew got a big contract and Anthony Richardson is a hot ticket. In the two games that he played, Richardson had 25.3 fantasy points per game. An extremely small sample size, but the 4th highest at the position. In the 4 games he appeared in, he had 136 rushing yards and 4 total TDs. A lot to be excited about, on top of the Colts adding some weapons to the offense.

Jonathan Taylor’s 2023 was altered by his contract situation and ankle injury. He was very good when available, but he missed most of the season. Currently he is being drafted as the 5th running back off of the board. Mike has him projected for an RB5 finish. There is no clear option for a handcuff or another back. Taylor appears to have the backfield to himself and is set up for a big 2024.
As for the Wide Receivers, Michael Pittman and Josh Downs both had success in 2023. Alec Pierce ran a lot of routes, but he was not fantasy relevant. The team brought in Adonai Mitchell, who Mike Clay projects to be their WR2. Currently he is fighting Alec Pierce for the WR3 spot and losing per camp reports. I think Josh Downs is a value in your drafts at WR60.
As far as the tight end position, I am avoiding it. The team didn’t make any significant adds and we saw the team funnel targets towards the WRs. Mike Clay has Jelani Woods projected for a TE28 finish and his ADP is currently TE30. Here are my full thoughts in this 2024 Indianapolis Colts Fantasy Football Preview.
