Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – July 1
JD Martinez Higher Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
JD Marinez has been everything the Mets have needed from the DH position and more. Since the National League implemented the DH in 2022, New York has struggled immensely to get production out of that position. David Sterns promised a competitive ball club in 2024, and since Martinez has been in the lineup, the Mets are certainly that.
The Mets were a league-best 16-8 in June, thanks to Martinez’s solid bat in the middle of the order. On Monday, Martinez and the Mets will face MacKenzie Gore and the Washington Nationals. JD is 1-4 with a homer against Gore in his career.
Gore is also coming off one of his worst starts of the season against the Padres. I love this matchup for Martinez today!
Vlad Guerrero Jr. Higher Than 8.0 Fantasy Points
There haven’t been many hotter hitters in baseball than Vlad Jr. In the last week of action, he is hitting an unreal .500 with four home runs and 17 RBIs. He raked in the four-game set against the Yankees, picking up a hit in each game of the series, hitting a home run in three out of the four, and totaling 10 RBIs.
He’ll be facing Hunter Brown of the Astros, who has been dominant as of late. This should be an exciting matchup, but I’ll ride with the hot hitter here!
