F1: Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix Odds and Best Bets

Last week in Spain, Max Verstappen got it done once again, but not without challenges, as the field continues to show improved performance gains on the Red Bull. The seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton finally scored his first podium finish of the season.

Max Verstappen -200
Lando Norris +285
Charles Leclerc +1800
Lewis Hamilton +2200
George Russell +2200
Sergio Perez +2200
Oscar Piastri +2500
Carlos Sainz +2500
Fernando Alonso +15000

George Russell Top 4 Finish (+110)

Mercedes got off to a slower start to the season but has started to find some speed over the last few weeks. Russell cruised to a podium finish in Canada and followed it up with a fourth-place finish last week in Spain.

In both races, he was right next to teammate Lewis Hamilton, which bodes well for what Mercedes has found. Russell’s podium finish is +250, which is also worth considering, but betting the top four allows Max and Lando to finish 1-2 and George and Lewis to split 3-4 and get paid either way if that happens or a Ferrari sneaks on to the podium.

Nico Hulkenberg Points Finish (+350)

The German driver has had himself quite the season so far. With no German Grand Prix, this is as close as it gets to a home race for the 36-year-old from Emmerich am Rhein, West Germany.

The Haas driver has finished inside of the points or very close to it often. In eight of 10 rounds in the 2024 F1 season, Hulkenberg has finished 11th or better. A driver who’s getting there or within a spot of it that often is worth this bet at +350.

Lando Norris Top 2 Finish (-138)

This one is simple. Norris has been the driver closest to Max Verstappen through most of the season. In five of the last six races, Norris has finished inside the top two, beating Max in Miami for his first career win.

Last season Norris finished fourth here when McLaren’s performance wasn’t up to the level they expected just yet. Ride the hot hand here, as Lando should extend his top-two streak.

Mercedes Double Top 6 Finish (+105)

Circling back to Mercedes and their newfound speed this is a bet that jumps off the board again this week. We talked about Russell above and made his case to land in the top four. Here lately it’s been Verstappen and Norris battling it out each week for first and second.

On the higher speed tracks, Mercedes has seemingly found itself as the next best ahead of the Ferraris who just don’t have the speed.

Russell and Hamilton have finished in the top six in the last two races and in the top seven in the last four events. Last season, they lacked a little here at the Red Bull Ring, finishing seventh and eighth. This year should look a lot more like 2022, when they finished third and fourth.
