All College Baseball Bets Are To Win 1 Unit

10 AM CT -136 Kentucky vs. Florida +106

PROBABLE PITCHERS

Kentucky: TBA, Dominic Niman JR RHP: 8-4, 6.24 ERA, 66 K, 25 BB, 70.2 IP, 3.99 SIERA

Florida: Pierce Coppola JR LHP: 0-4, 9.16 ERA, 26 K, 9 BB, 18.2 IP, 3.16 SIERA

I mean this in the nicest way: these two starting pitchers have been trainwrecks lately. Pierce Coppola has a 10.80 ERA in his last 4 starts, and Dominic Niman has a 13.54 ERA in his last 4 starts.

UK has more options out of the pen. Robert Hogan’s 2.09 ERA, Johnny Hummel’s 3.30 ERA, and Jackson Nove’s 5.40 ERA are the three names to know.

If I had to pick one of these projected starting pitchers to have a better outing, I’d lean toward Coppola. He has plenty of talent but came back from Tommy John surgery in the final quarter of the regular season. Coppola is a crossfire lefty who has already seen the Wildcats once this season. It was his best start so far this season (2.2 IP, 3 K, 1 BB, 0 ER, 1 R).

The day off definitely benefits the Gators more. Florida’s Brandon Neely has been elite in the NCAA Tournament. Neely has already thrown 68 pitches in a four-day span, but it’s more reasonable to see him make an appearance on Wednesday than it was on Tuesday.

UF will lean hard on Fisher Jameson. In his Junior season, the RHP is 5-0 with a 4.14 ERA and 74 K in 63 innings. Jameson has been in a groove lately. His last three outings have been some of his longest this season.

The Bet: +106 Florida ML (FanDuel)

2 PM CT -180 Tennessee vs. Florida State +150

PROBABLE PITCHERS

Kentucky: Zander Sechrist SR LHP: 4-1, 3.21 ERA, 66 K, 14 BB, 66.1 IP, 3.03 SIERA

Florida State: TBA

Florida State faces a gigantic pitching question entering this game. Do they start their Ace Jamie Arnold on short rest (4 days AKA MLB rest), or do they elect to throw the Kitchen Sink (everybody they possibly can) to mix and match and try to get through nine innings? Either way, if the Seminoles win, they would then have to play Tennessee again on Thursday.

Whatever pitching strategy FSU chooses to deploy, I will land on the Tennessee side of things. The Volunteers’ loaded offense has already seen Arnold and put up 6 runs (4 earned) on 8 hits in 5 innings. Bumping for UT will be Zander Sechrist, who has been dominant lately. Sechrist has a 0.78 ERA in his last 4 starts.

Yes, Florida State’s offense has been raking in Omaha. But when you need an offensive game script in order to win, and you’re facing Tennessee’s offense, it will be an uphill climb. Ride Rocky Top in this one.

The Bet: -180 Tennessee ML (Caesars)
