Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – June 14
Dansby Swanson – Higher than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Maybe he hasn’t been great as of late, but Dansby Swanson is a name a like a lot due to the pitching matchup. He’s faced Friday’s starter Kyle Gibson 17 times in his career. He’s 9-for-13 (.692) in that span with four walks. One of those hits is a double and another is a homer. When you consider all of that, maybe this is the right name to get him out of his slump. If so, it should be a quick path to getting 1.5 HRR.
Gleyber Torres – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases
Gleyber Torres is another guy with a great head-to-head today, but also has the benefit of being on a hot streak. Torres has a hit in 13 of his last 14 games, and in just short of half of those has an extra-base hit. Now he’ll face Red Sox hurler Brayan Bello, who he has stepped in against 15 times in his career. In that span he’s 6-for-14 (.429) with a walk and two doubles. He’d just need to bounce one off the Green Monster here and he should be all set.
Orlando Arcia – Higher than 0.5 Total Bases
The Braves All-Star shortstop hasn’t had a long history with the opposing pitcher that we’re looking to exploit. However, he has a really low projection and seems to be seeing the ball well right now. He has a hit in three of his last four games, and in five of his last seven. That includes a double he ripped in the season finale against the Orioles. The Braves need some support for their bats right now and he seems like he can provide a bit of it.
